Cruises from Vilnius

Vilnius lies in the Baltics, and that is exactly why residents of the Lithuanian capital have access to two seasonal cruise directions at once, not just one. In the Baltic season, a flight to Copenhagen becomes the logical choice: liners depart regularly from there in Baltic waters in summer, and reaching it from Vilnius airport is not hard. When a Mediterranean cruise is needed instead, residents usually choose a flight to Barcelona, where MSC, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Costa, and Celestyal wait for passengers. Both directions are served by direct flights, though the frequency and number of carriers on the Baltic direction is noticeably smaller than on the Mediterranean one, so it is worth planning the trip in advance, especially in summer. Some residents also compare flights with neighboring Riga: sometimes a more advantageous or schedule convenient option is found in the other Baltic capital rather than at home. For the Lithuanian capital, as for the rest of the Baltic countries, the choice between the two seasons is more a matter of dates and personal preference than geographic necessity: both ports are equally accessible by flight, they just lead to different seas and a different cruise format.
