Oosterdam

The Oosterdam - the second ship of the Vista class in the fleet of Holland America Line - was christened by Dutch Princess Margriet in 2003. It combines technological innovations such as a diesel-electric power plant for more economical fuel consumption, as well as the latest Azipod system, which makes the ship more maneuverable.

In the center of the three-deck Atrium of the Oosterdam hangs a huge crystal globe, symbolizing 135 years of travel on Holland America Line ships around the world. Specifically for the Oosterdam, Holland America Line has created its unforgettable style, which is easily recognizable: warm tones, marble, brass, extensive use of crystals, various types of wood, a vast array of fresh flowers on board, priceless works of art, antiques, a teak wood promenade deck, and comfortable armchairs.
